License for Purchased CAD Files and 3D Printable Digital Products
Summery
By purchasing 3D printing files or other CAD data of a digital product you received a non-transferable license to print, assemble and use a physical copy of the product. You may manufacture this physical copy in unlimited quantities and use personally or commercially. All other rights are reserved.
You are expressly prohibited from selling, renting, or giving away physical or digital copies of this product as well as its direct derivatives or designs where parts of this product where used. Before disposing of a physical copy, ensure that it is irreparably disabled.
License agreement
(1) Grant of License By purchasing 3D printing files or other CAD data, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to print, assemble, and use physical copies of the purchased product. All intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyrights and design rights, remain exclusively with the licensor.
(2) Permitted Use You are permitted to:
- Manufacture physical copies of the product in unlimited quantities
- Use the manufactured physical copies for personal purposes
- Use the manufactured physical copies for commercial purposes, including the sale of physical prints produced directly from the purchased files, provided that the digital files themselves are not distributed
(3) Restrictions You are expressly prohibited from:
- Selling, renting, leasing, sublicensing, or otherwise distributing the digital files in original or modified form
- Sharing the digital files publicly or privately, including through file-sharing platforms, cloud services, or similar means
- Selling or distributing physical copies that are direct reproductions of the original design without significant creative or functional modification
- Using the design or parts thereof in products where the original design constitutes more than 20% of the total design volume or visual appearance
- Reverse engineering the files for the purpose of recreating or redistributing the underlying design data
(4) Modifications and Derivative Works Any modifications made to the purchased digital files create a derivative work. Derivative works remain subject to this license. You may not claim independent intellectual property rights over designs that incorporate substantial elements of the original purchased files. For the purposes of this agreement, a derivative work is defined as any design in which the original purchased design is recognizable as a significant component.
(5) Disposal of Physical Copies Before disposing of any physical copy of the product, you must ensure that it is irreparably disabled or destroyed, preventing any further use, reproduction, or reverse engineering of the physical copy.
(6) Intellectual Property Notice All designs, CAD files, and related materials remain the exclusive intellectual property of the licensor. This license does not transfer any ownership rights. Any unauthorized use constitutes an infringement of applicable intellectual property laws and may result in legal action.
(7) Liability Disclaimer The licensor provides the digital files “as is” without warranty of any kind, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or structural integrity of printed products. The licensee assumes full responsibility for the safe manufacturing, assembly, and use of any physical copies. The licensor shall not be held liable for any damages arising from the use or misuse of the purchased digital files or manufactured physical copies.
(8) Termination of License This license is effective upon purchase and remains valid indefinitely, unless terminated due to a breach of these terms. In the event of a breach, the licensor reserves the right to revoke the license immediately. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the digital files and destroy all existing copies, both digital and physical.
