Description

Swapmod A2L โ Automatic Plate Changer for Bambu Lab A2L
What swapmod does
swapmod is a plate-changing add-on for the Bambu Lab A2L. It lets your printer work through several plates in sequence without anyone intervening: print multiple plates from one project file, combine several files into one queue, or repeat the same plate over and over. Drop your gcode.3mf files into the swaplist app, choose the order, start the queue.
How the plate changer works
The printer loads a blank plate from the magazine, prints on it, ejects it when finished and pulls in the next one. This continues until the queue is done or the magazine is empty. No restarts, no clearing the bed between jobs.
What you can expect
This version of swapmod is a downloadable digital product. Means you will get a file with all needed presets so you just need load some filament on your BambuLab A2L and hit “print”. The 3MF file is preset and all components are fit on only two build plates (one for PLA and another for PETG components). Assembling and installing requires absolutely no technical skills, it takes only a few minutes and you will be assisted by a very detailed video guide. You don’t need to deal with the gCode as you get access to an app which will do it for you. You can load up to multiple build-plates into the magazine. We recommend using up to 8 plates for an reliable result, but higher amount is possible.

Honest limitations
- You still remove the parts from the ejected plates yourself. Swapmod automates plate changes and restarts, not post processing.
- It is a DIY product. You print and assemble it, so the result depends partly on your printer and filament presets being well tuned.
- Plate changes are reliable but not infallible. A failure usually means the printer stops, not that anything breaks โ but see the safety notes below.
- Bambu Labโs manual says nothing should sit in front of or behind the printer. swapmod does exactly that. Your printer warranty may not cover damage caused by using it. The full safety notes are above in a product safety tab. Please read them before buying. If you are not comfortable with these risks, this product is not for you.
Magazine capacity
We recommend up to eight plates for consistently reliable results. More is possible, and plenty of users run more, but eight is the number we are comfortable putting our name to.
